When your hormones aren’t balanced, it can cause mild symptoms or symptoms so severe you can’t even get through your day. It’s no wonder many women seek treatment when they start suffering.
Unfortunately for many, they don’t get the answers they were looking for when they do seek help for their hormone related symptoms.
Have you been told any of the following:
- There is nothing wrong with you. All your tests are normal.
- It’s all in your head.
- You are just depressed
- Get rid of the stress
- Eat less and exercise more
What you likely are wanting to know is….do I have an hormone imbalance and will taking hormones help to fix the imbalance?
It is possible that you can get rid of the negative side effects that unbalanced hormones can do to your body. You can find treatment for the side effects of mood swings, weight gain, insomnia, anxiety, thinning hair, hot flashes and more.
When you don’t get the help you need and deserve, if you are like many women however, you start searching for something over the counter to provide you with hormone symptom relief. You might also be wondering if this is an effective treatment method and the answer is yes and no.
It all depends on what you buy. Some of the over counter treatments are full of hype, while others are extremely effective. You just have to make sure you research your treatment options before you buy.
A work of caution. If you buy a product and don’t know all the potential risk and benefits, you can potentially make your hormone imbalance worse or even increase your health risks.
For example, if you are looking for something to help your estrogen level, but have estrogen dominance and don’t know it, you may have just made matters worse. Or if you know that you’re having a problem with low estrogen, you have to be careful that you don’t take enough estrogen to throw off your progesterone balance – especially if you’re looking for help alleviating symptoms of menopause.
I never recommend a woman try an over the counter hormone treatment, even when it is a natural compound like that of estrogen or any other hormone without first having your hormone levels tested.
In my opinion, it is best to work with a practitioner trained in natural hormone therapies.
Your practitioner can then help guide you to know which over the counter products are safe and effective for you to try to help relieve your hormone related symptoms.
Natural plant ingredients are always a good choice when you’re looking at over the counter hormone options.
Often times a woman will try one of the many herbal remedies, such as black cohosh, which is well known to help provide relief from hot flashes.
Over the counter hormone remedies can be effective as long as you take them in the amount that you need and you get the ones that mimic your own hormone needs.
Bottom line though, it is best to first test your hormones, rather than guessing. Many women think they know what their hormone imbalance MIGHT be, but may find out through proper testing they were wrong.
My personal favorite hormone test is the DUTCH Complete. It is the most comprehensive hormone test on the market in my opinion.
Inside my Hormone Help for Women programs, I share not only more about the DUTCH test, but what your hormone treatment options are.
