This week I want to talk about the symptoms and conditions that can result from having a leaky gut and also give you 5 steps you can take to start repairing your gut.

Leaky gut often presents as a digestive problem, but not always. Common symptoms include bloating, cramps and food sensitivities.  Now, just because you have gas doesn’t mean you have leaky gut.  You may not be able to handle certain types of foods. 

However, you may have other conditions which manifested because of leaky gut.  For example, chronic skin rashes or itching, sinus problems, headaches, mood changes, hormone imbalances, belly bloat and any number of allergies or autoimmune conditions can be caused by leaky gut. 

Skin problems such as eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, hives, teenage acne and cystic acne can all be related to what is going on in your gut.

Pain in your joints and muscles and even autoimmune disorders, as mentioned, such as fibromyalgia, lupus, Hashimoto’s and chronic fatigue syndrome can be caused by the nutritional refuse that isn’t properly handled by a leaky gut.
